SSAE 18

Colocation Northwest possesses an SSAE 18 certification for our data centers and operations.

Short for Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements 16, SSAE 18 was created by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. A successful audit attests to the design and effectiveness of a service provider's controls over anything relevant to their customers' financial and security reporting.

Because publicly traded companies use SSAE 18 to comply with Sarbanes–Oxley or SOX, this certification is widely used by both private and publicly traded organizations to assess the quality of new vendors.

Bicsi

Bicsi is the worldwide renowned source of information, education and knowledge for the constant expansion of information and communications technology community. Our service engineer team is trained in Outside Plant (OSP), Cabling and pathways used within ICT and telecommunications OSP. As well as, Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), creation, planning, integration, execution and/or detailed oriented project management of telecommunications and data communications technology.

PCI DSS

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, or PCI DSS, are the rules that all merchants, and their vendors, follow to protect the private and financial information of credit card and debit card users.

As a vendor to merchants and other businesses that must protect personally identifiable information, Colocation Northwest restricts physical access to our data centers using physical and biometric security protocols. Remaining compliant ensures that our systems remain secure, and customers can trust us with their sensitive payment information.

TWIC

The Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as TWIC^®, is required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act for workers who need access to secure areas of the nation's maritime facilities and vessels. Our proximity to maritime assets make this credential valuable to our employees with potential interaction in our nation's government designated sites such as military installations, docks, and other sensitive areas. TSA conducts a security threat assessment (background check) to determine a person's eligibility and issues the credential.

LEED Gold

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.

Our South Hill facility is certified LEED Gold.

Our South Hill Data Center sits on solid bedrock and is built to exceed Seismic Building Code Requirements by 25%. It has been certified by a third-party geotechnical engineering firm to be able to withstand a magnitude 9 subduction earthquake with little to no structural impact. The nearest fault is located more than 20 miles from the South Hill campus, and further clear of the Seattle Fault running through the Seattle metropolitan area. It sits outside of the Lahar zone and is well above the 500-year floodplain.
